What changed

The healing center and the facilitator are licensed by different agencies. How to check both in a few minutes, and what to do if the records do not match.

A licensed psilocybin service in Colorado involves two separate licenses: one for the healing center and one for the facilitator. Different agencies issue them, so a quick check means looking in two places.

Checking the healing center

The Natural Medicine Division at the Colorado Department of Revenue licenses healing centers. Ask the center for its licensed business name and license number, then search the official healing center license lookup. The name on the record should match what you were given. Trading names can differ from licensed names, so if it is not obvious, ask.

Checking the facilitator

Facilitators are licensed by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA). Ask the center who will facilitate your session and how to confirm that person’s license through DORA.

If something does not line up

Do not book until you get a clear answer. Ask the center first, then contact the regulator. A badge on a website, ours included, is not a substitute for the official record. Our step-by-step license checking guide goes into more detail, and choosing a licensed healing center covers what else to compare.

Centers marked as licensed in our Colorado directory were matched to the state’s published list. We still recommend checking yourself.
